I'm in the market for a stand-alone TDF machine. I would like some opinions on the 12, 14 and 16 station machines. I saw the 14 station Flagler year before last and don't remember seeing anything wrong with it. I have a 16 station Engel in our coil line but it is priced about $10,000 more than the Flagler. I have not seen the 12 station Engel which is a couple thousand less than the Flagler, but if I remember right Flagler discontinued it's 12 station because it made kind of a wavy flange. Any comments are appreciated.

Well... If you want the same flange as on your Engel, go with the 16 station. The difference between the 16 and 14 station machines... the 16 station TDF machine puts button punch dimples inside flange, so the corners almost snap in. The 14 and 12 station machines do not do offer this! The more stations on the roll former, the less twist and camber in the duct.
If it was my money... the minimum I would by is a 14 station!
I have sold several Flagler machines and they are built very well and run great!

Clint is exactly right about the stations, the more the better, but the more stations the higher priced the machine is. Also, there is no such thing as a true "snap in" corner. Engel promotes the "snap in" corners, but they still need to be crimped in place to securely hold them even though they say you don't need to.
