Thumbs up Steel Grease Duct

Got another grease duct jobsite and for the first time my grease duct came from the east coast and its factory made with no flanges with these small rectangle steel plates as accessories??? I can only assume that we weld the plates inside duct and butt the seams together to weld???...no flange... need help with clarification and has anyone in Commercial HVAC field have any info.???...Thank you.
